| When the earth is turned to spring
The worms are fat as anything
Birds come flying from all around
To eat the worms right off the ground
They like the worms as much as you or I
Would like bread or milk or apple pie
So once when I was very young
I put a worm right on my tounge
I did not like the taste a bit
So I did not swallow it
But oh how it makes my mother squirm
Because she thinks I ate that worm
This is the Brattin family tribute to our lost soul, it was his favorite poem. We do hope it brings a smile to your face as we know it always did for us, and him. He would say it every spring and laugh and giggle, you could just see the gleem in his eyes as he said it and that smile (it was contagious.) | |
